Bozhana Sokolova was born in 1987 in Rousse, Bulgaria. She began playing violin at the age of 5 with Nikolina Kazakova. In 1993 she began studying in the violin class of Anelia Popova at the National School of Arts "Professor Veselin Stoyanov" Rousse. 2000 she won the special prize "Ana Ivanova" and the 3th-Prize in the national competition "Young Musical Talents" 2000 Sofia, Bulgaria. In 2002 she was awarded with the "Ekaterina Popova" Prize in "Pancho Vladigerov" national competition Shumen, Bulgaria. She is also laureate of the International Youth Music Competition “Hopes, Talents, Masters” 2000, the national competition "Pancho Vladigerov" Shumen 2005 and of the 5th international competition "Franz Schubert" Rousse, 2005. During her musical education she participated actively in the violin master classes of Yfrah Neaman, Vanya Milanova, Mincho Minchev, M. Frischenschlager, P. Munteanu, Sherban Lupu, Yuri Zhislin, Donald Weilerstein, Kevork Mardirossian, Tanja Becker-Bender, Larissa Kolos, Eduard Grach, Stefan Gheorghiu and in the master class of Vienna Philharmonic as a part of the Internationalen Music Forum Trenta, Slovenia. She performed as a soloist with the State Philharmonic Orchestra of Shumen and Stanislav Ushev and the Rousse Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Georgi Chaprazov and Gergi Dimitrov.
In 2006 she graduated with distinction from the National School of Arts "Professor Veselin Stoyanov" Rousse. From 2006 to 2011 Bozhana Sokolova studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg, Germany under Prof. Petru Munteanu, Prof. Kolja Blacher and Prof. Boris Garlitsky. In 2015 the violinist got her master’s degree from Folkwang Universität der Künste, Essen, Germany by Boris Garlitsky. She received also scholarships from the Ministry of Culture of Bulgaria, "Bistra & Galina" Foundation, Rousse, „Otto-Stöterau-Stiftung“Hamburg and „Oscar und Vera Ritter-Stiftung“ Hamburg, Germany.
The violinist participated in the festivals: „Sofia Music Summer 2009" Sofia, Bulgaria, „New Year Music Festival-Sofia" 2010, "Das Französische Klangfest", Hamburg, Germany 2010, "Vilalte Music Festival"- Corsavy, France 2016.
Since 2013 Bozhana Sokolova is a violinist in the Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie, Herford, Germany. As a member of the Orchestra she performs regulary in Germany, Spain, Italy Netherlands and Switzerland.
